I Don’t Just Train Dogs.

I Teach People How to Understand Them.

I believe dogs deserve more than a life of being constantly managed.

They deserve to be understood.

And I believe the people who love them deserve to feel confident in knowing how to communicate with them, guide them, and give them the freedom to be part of their lives.

That belief is at the heart of everything I do at Golden Door Dog Training.

THE GOLDEN DOOR DOG TRAINING DIFFERENCE

I Became a Dog Trainer Because I Loved a Dog I Didn’t Know How to Help.

Before I became a professional dog trainer, I knew what it felt like to deeply love a dog and still not know what to do.

I wanted to help, but I didn't understand what my dog needed from me.

That experience sent me looking for answers.

I wanted to understand how dogs learn. How they communicate. Why certain behaviors happen. And what we, as their owners, can do to create a relationship that actually works for both of us.

That curiosity eventually became my career.

And after roughly a decade of professionally training dogs, I've learned that many of the problems owners struggle with aren't because they have a bad dog.

And they aren't because they're bad owners.

There's often simply a gap in communication.

My job is to help close that gap.

Loving Your Dog and Leading Your Dog Are Not Opposites.

A strong relationship with your dog isn't created by avoiding every uncomfortable moment, and it isn't created through control alone.

Thats where my Golden Keys come in:

These are the principles I build my training around. Each one plays a role in creating better relationship, more reliable behavior, and ultimately, more freedom together.

Play

relationship and trust start here.

Communication

dogs need clarity and a language they can actually understand.

Clarity

make the right answer obvious.

Accountability

once your dog understands what’s expected, fair and consistent corrections reinforce that those expectations still matter.

Leadership

guide with confidence, consistency, and fairness so your dog knows what to expect from you.

Freedom

to make choices, make mistakes, learn, and build confidence.

Dogs thrive when they understand what's expected of them.

When we communicate clearly and fairly, we give them the opportunity to make good choices - and ultimately, we can give them more freedom.

I Train for Real Life.

I'm not interested in creating a dog who performs perfectly in a controlled environment but falls apart the moment real life happens.

Because you don't live in a training room.

That's why my approach goes beyond teaching basic commands.

I use relationship, play, and clear communication as the foundation, then bring together structure, clarity, leadership, accountability, and freedom to create a cohesive way of living with your dog.

The goal isn't a perfectly obedient dog, It's a dog you can confidently enjoy your life with.

Because Training Should Open the Door to More.

For me, successful dog training isn't measured by how many commands your dog knows. It's measured by what you can do together because of the relationship you've built.

A peaceful walk, a trip to the beach, a hike, friends coming over without chaos, exploring somewhere new, and giving your dog more freedom because you trust them.

And feeling confident that when something unexpected happens, you know how to communicate with your dog.

That's what training is for, that's the idea behind Golden Door.

Training opens the door to a bigger life together.

There’s More Than One Way to Get There.

Some owners want to learn how to train their dog themselves.

Others need more intensive, hands-on support.

That's why I offer both online training and personalized in-person Board & Train programs.

My online programs take the system I've developed as a professional trainer and break it into clear, step-by-step training you can use at home.

My Board & Train programs allow me to work intensively with your individual dog, with only a small number of dogs in my care at a time.

Different dogs need different things.

The important part is finding the right path for yours.

Let’s Talk About Your Dog.

Maybe you're raising a puppy and want to get things right from the beginning.

Maybe walks have become stressful.

Maybe you're dealing with pulling, barking, reactivity, poor recall, jumping, destruction, overexcitement, or a dog who simply doesn't listen when it matters.

Or maybe nothing is terribly “wrong.”

You just know life together could be better.

Maybe you want more freedom, more trust, and the confidence to include your dog in more of your life. Or just peace restored in your home.

Tell me what's happening now, tell me what you've tried.

And most importantly, tell me what you wish you could confidently do with your dog that you can't do today.

We'll talk about where you are, where you'd like to go, and what kind of training and support makes sense for you.

Less Managing. More Living.

Better communication. Better behavior. More freedom.
